KolpexinŽ T

wpe1.gif (16343 bytes) Dr. Kulisz's Assessment:

KolpexinŽ T is an example of an unusual device - a mechanical pelvic floor muscle stimulator and exerciser - developed by late Dr. Marian Adamkiewicz, a gynecologist in Poland.  The device does two things: it supports anterior vaginal wall preventing urine leakage due to incontinence (like a pessary) while rocking of the inner steel ball stimulates pelvic floor muscles.  The stimulation mechanism is very simple:  every time the rocking metal ball taps the inner wall of the large ball, the impact is dissipated through the whole area of the large ball.  This is a very basic and effective means of pelvic floor stimulation.

This device combines the two basic functions so demanded by incontinent women:   pessary -- preventing the leakage, and stimulator -- exercising the pelvic floor.

This device underwent rigorous European clinical trials and is in clinical use as an aide for retraining pelvic floor muscles.  The device is available over the counter in a number of European countries.
